Common Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures
Many of our patients today are looking for that perfect professional look, and we can help them achieve that by improving their smile. Brightening, straightening and adjusting your smile can help anyone light up a room. At Myers Dental, we have a wide variety of cosmetic options that can improve the look of your smile, some are instantaneous, and others take time, we can help you decide on the right treatment to fit your needs.
Some of the most common procedures include:
Teeth whitening is one of the fastest, easiest steps that can make a huge impact in your look. Our teeth are constantly subject to stains and wear, whitening them removes the stains, often leaving us looking younger and fresher. Whiter teeth provide patients with a look of confidence and cleanliness. At Myers Dental, we have both in-office whitening treatments, and take home trays that are customized to fit you and how you want to whiten.
A simple, yet very effective, treatment is known as composite bonding. We can repair chipped teeth and fill in gaps using composite filling material. This is the same filling material we use for cavities. It is strong, durable, and we can shape it to be customized to your needs.
Dental veneers are made with a thin shell of porcelain that is designed to fit over the front surface of your teeth. With them, we can give your teeth any appearance you want, they can be longer, shorter, wider, or just perfected in shape and color. We can cover up stains, chips, and gaps. Dental veneers can completely change your look in just two dental visits.
Invisalign® is a clear aligner system designed to straighten your teeth discreetly. Instead of the traditional wire and bracket system of braces, we custom a series of trays that fit perfectly over your teeth. You wear each aligner for about two weeks and then move to the next one in the system. Patients love this option because they improve their bite without the look of braces. Additionally, Invisalign® is removable, making it ideal for patients who play instruments or sports. Invisalign® also allows you to eat your regular diet without the fear of food getting wedged or stuck. Simply remove it while you play or eat and then replace it when you're done!
Dental implants are more than cosmetic dentistry; it is restorative dentistry. The loss of teeth is not only visually unattractive, but it is also bad for your oral health. We can replace missing teeth by rebuilding the root structure where they once sat. Dental implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support and help you maintain a healthy mouth and bone structure. The result is teeth that look, feel and function like your natural teeth.
A dental crown is a cap, or shield, for your natural tooth after it has been weakened or to place over a dental implant when replacing a tooth entirely. We customize its shape and coloring to match your neighboring teeth in look and bite.
