Dental Implants

We offer many options for replacing missing teeth, but only dental implants provides the function, feel and look of your natural teeth. Today's dental implant restorations are indistinguishable in your mouth, allowing you to forget that there ever was a problem.

What is a dental implant?

The Implant is the base, or root, of your new artificial tooth. The dentist uses a device made of titanium that resembles a screw. Titanium is a specific type of metal that is biocompatible to you and with time your bone will blend this device into its tissue through a process called osseointegration. This process allows for a structural and functional connection between the dental implant and your living bone. This type of metal is used by doctors daily for other procedures. The dentist surgically places your new root base into your jawbone. He is able to do this with single and even multiple missing teeth.

After the implant placement:

Cross section of jaw showing regular teeth and a dental implant. After surgery, a temporary crown will be placed onto the device which our patients wear during the healing time. This will be about three to six months. Your dentist will then place a more permanent dental crown that has been customized to you, onto the now stable base, giving you a strong tooth. Dental implants have the highest rate of permanent success than any other replacement solution. Studies tell us that there is a 98% success rate for dental implants, and the number of patients receiving them is growing at a fast rate. You no longer have the same dental fate as those before you.
